A. Programme of the Cilane Congress, October 5-8, 2017 in Avignon

Organized by the RNP

Thursday 5

From 2 to 8 pm : Arrival of attendees. Refreshments

-Registration, distribution of badges and documents.

We will be at your disposal for any questions you may have regarding accomodation etc.

 

Friday 6

-Morning : 9am beginning of sightseeing tours. Lunch is taken together.

-Afternoon : 5.30 pm Departure for the Uzes duchy visit

-Greeting from The Uzes Duke, private visit of the duchy, cocktail buffet and return journey between 9.30 and 11 pm.

 

Saturday 7

-Congress

-Opening speach by the Cilane coordinator and the RNP President

-Three conferences

-Lunch on site

-Visit of the Palace with English or French guides

-Meeting of the delegates and of the exchanges commission

-Cruise along the Rhône river

-Gala dinner party

-Ball

 

Sunday 8

10.30 am : Catholic mass in Notre-Dame des Doms Cathedral

Special mass celebrated by LL Exc. Mgr Cattenoz, bishop of Avignon and Mgr de Germiny, bishop of Blois, chaplain of the RNP and Canon Bréhier, priest of the cathedral.

10.30 am : Protestant service in Saint-Martial Temple, 2 rue Henri Fabre

The protestant pastor Michel Bertrand will lead the reformation service

 

 

B. Details of the programme

 

Saturday 7

8 - 9 am : reception at the popes’palace in Salle Paneterie

(registration of the last arrivals in order to give them badges, and useful documents)

9am : Opening of the Congress (salle du conclave)

Speech by Johan Grotenfelt, Cilane coordinator

Opening speech by Count Roger Marraud des Grottes, president of the RNP

First Conference

The papal nobility by the Count Roger Marraud des Grottes, president of the RNP

Second conference
 
The contribution of the Avignon popes to Europe, by the Countess Bernard de Gatellier

 

10.30 am : Coffee break

11.15 am : Third conference

History of the Popes’Palace, the biggest gothic Palace in Europe, by Mrs Dominique Vingtain, curator of the Popes’ Palace

 

12 am-12.15 : Closing session of the Congress

12.30-2pm : Seated lunch (salle jeanne Laurent)

2-6pm : Popes’Palace French and English tours ( maximum of 40 people per group)

5 pm : Boat cruise along the Rhône river. Congress members who will have finished the Popes’palace visit will be able to do a 45mn cruise on the river Rhône (the pier is located 10 to 15 minutes walk from Popes’Palace)

6-8 pm : Time off

8pm : Gala dinner(salle Jeanne Laurent)

9.30 pm-2am : Dancing Ball
